Year 3 have been studying myths and their structure. They have looked closely at Ancient Greek Mythology and have read myths such as 'Theseus and the Minotaur'. The children have worked very hard writing their own 'quest myths'. Our young authors are (in order of reading): Prasanth, Isaac, Simran, Amy, Chelsea-Mae, Jack, Harry, Paige, Ophelia, Tom E. and Mason. ENJOY!!

Peterbrook caters for the learning needs of all its children. In 2005 we began our Year 1-Year 6 'Brain Academy' learning programme for our highest achievers. These children take on a huge range of Literacy, Numeracy and Science based challenges on a weekly basis. It explains in an extremely creative way how the 12 year Chinese calendar cycle was created in ancient times. Year 5 children are very creative also and have completely re-thought and re-created the story. Listen to their new versions of a famous Chinese event.

Year 6 have been studying 'Carrie's War' by Nina Bawden. A skull has been found in Druid's Bottom, but how did it get there? The children have written their own explanations for how this happened. They have planned and rehearsed their versions before beforming them in front of their peers, without scripts!
