'Guess the sound' is our monthly listening game. Listen carefully, I will play the clip three times. It is a familiar sound from around school. When you have decided send your answer into the Guestbook. All the correct answers will be put into a hat, a winner will be chosen at random and they will receive a prize at the end of the month. Good luck!!
After four months of learning a wide range of world knowledge questions and researching their own specialist subject area with Mr. McGaw, the pupils were ready to be tested in gruelling 'knock out' rounds which led to the final. The contestants each took to the Mastermind chair and after nail-biting questioning, our ultimate winner scored a fantastic 24 correct answers with no passes!! Here is the interview with the winner, Ella Spencer.

During this term Year 3 have looked at shape poems. Miss Taylor’s group have written their own poem based on going down into the cellar. Mrs Clayton’s group have written their own poem about the horrible things that might be found in the deep dark cellar. Get ready to be spooked!!
Year 6 have been studying 'Carrie's War' by Nina Bawden. A skull has been found in Druid's Bottom, but how did it get there? The children have written their own explanations for how this happened. They have planned and rehearsed their work, and performed in front of their peers. Well done year 6.
Learning to read is great fun and it all begins with us learning our phonic sounds. You can now learn these sounds (phonemes) at home with mum and dad and with Mrs. Wardle. Let's reinforce the phonic learning that we are doing in the classroom ... whenever you like!! This approach will help your child accelerate in their learning from the comfort of your own home. You can practise phonemes with your child for a few minutes everyday if you wish - you will never regret it. ENJOY!
