At Peterbrook the children and teachers really enjoy reading, writing and sharing poetry!! Do you have a poem that you would like to share as a podcast? Contact us via the 'Guestbook' and we'll podcast it!!
The children have been reading a range of different poems, discussing images and creating a vivid picture. Here is a selection of poems they would like to share with you....
Year 4 have started their poetry unit by looking at poems with the common theme of flies. They have read 'The Fly' by William Blake and various others. The children have then written their own poems, enjoy!
This term Year 4 have been studying stories and poems from other cultures. They have written the next part of the poem 'Adventures of Isabel'
Isabel met an enormous bear,
Isabel, Isabel, didn't care;
The bear was hungry, the bear was ravenous,
The bear's big mouth was cruel and cavernous.
The bear said, Isabel, glad to meet you,
How do, Isabel, now I'll eat you!
Isabel, Isabel, didn't worry,
Isabel didn't scream or scurry.
She washed her hands and she straightened her hair up,
Then Isabel quietly ate the bear up.
