At Peterbrook the children and teachers really enjoy reading, writing and sharing poetry!! Do you have a poem that you would like to share as a podcast? Contact us via the 'Guestbook' and we'll podcast it!!
During this term Year 3 have looked at shape poems. Miss Taylor’s group have written their own poem based on going down into the cellar. Mrs Clayton’s group have written their own poem about the horrible things that might be found in the deep dark cellar. Get ready to be spooked!!
Here we are again with the next installment of poetry readings from our Year 6 children. Sit back and relax as they read you a selection of their favourite poems. Enjoy!!
Today is 'Mothering Sunday' and at school each class has been a hive of activity preparing for this important day when Peterbrook mums are treated by their children. This podcast represents a small part of that whole school effort - here we have 32 acrostic poems beautifully written on the word 'MOTHER'. Enjoy your day mums!!
Literacy is great fun, especially when you get to perform your poems with your teacher!! This week our Year 2 pupils have been looking at fabulous poems for performance and have decided how to present them with sound effects and excitement. We hope you like their poems!!
Friday 6th February was a very snowy day where the children in Year 1 decided to remember the beautiful snowscape outside their classroom windows by writing their own acrostic poems. The next step was to perform them for Radio Peterbrook. Enjoy!!
Our Literacy group have been reading and writing poetry. We have enjoyed this unit so much that we have found our favourite poems and have read them for you!! Our young poets are:
Ross Breillat, Megan Dunnico, Lydia Billington, Kayleigh Salt, Megan Hobday, Shona Argue, Lauren Stewart, Keeley Round and the 'not so young' Mr. Russell!!
It's exciting writing poetry! Haiku poetry is originally from Japan and it is unusual because it is written to a strict syllable structure of 5 syllables (line 1), 7 syllables (line 2) and 5 syllables (final line). Enjoy these super Christmas efforts!! Well done to our young poets: Rhianna, Jack G., Joe, Kayleigh, Amy, Maddie, Taylor, Reece, Shayna, Emily, Tia, Jessica and Amelia!!
