Peterbrook's involvement in the performing arts is well established and we are recognised as a 'GOLD Artsmark' status school by Arts Council England for the quality of our curricular and extra-curricular activities. The arts are everywhere at Peterbrook as we believe that children who participate in music, drama and dance, always enjoy themselves as their confidence and self-esteem grows. This channel will share with you a selection of those magical performing arts moments. Enjoy!

Recorder Club have worked very hard this term and they have enjoyed learning their songs. They did an excellent performance during a whole school assembly. Here are the four songs they performed: 'When the Saints', 'French March', 'Jingle Bells' and 'Silent Night'. Well done to our Recorder Club and 'thank you' to Mrs. Davies.
Peterbrook caters for the learning needs of all its children. In 2005 we began our Year 1-Year 6 'Brain Academy' learning programme for our highest achievers. These children take on a huge range of Literacy, Numeracy and Science based challenges on a weekly basis. Today is something special as our Year 5 'G&T' Team present for you their first 'wacky' radio broadcast where they have fun writing, rehearsing and presenting crazy radio shows!! ENJOY!!
There are times as a teacher when you know you are witnessing something special - an achievement by children which goes way beyond the norm - something unique. Today was such a time when forty of our Year 5&6 children performed in Mell Square Solihull, at the inaugural Chinese New Year celebrations for the town. In freezing weather our pupils looked amazing and sang in Mandarin Chinese a very difficult Chinese New Year song in front of hundreds of people. Their singing was simultaneously broadcast 'live' by BRMB Radio across the whole of the West Midlands region. It was a stunning achievement and our pupils are a credit to their school, their parents and families and most of all, to themselves!! If you would like to see photos and video clips of the event please return to our main website and navigate to 'Breaking News'. Kung Hei Fat Choy!!

Watch our amazing Video Prospectus! We have a paper-based School Prospectus, like all schools which is available from our School Office. Our Video School Prospectus is different - it shows you what you can't see on paper - our school ethos and energy. It shows the 'heart' of our school. ENJOY!!
We began a new art module today - to explore the colours, textures and sounds of the rainforest using abstract art styles to guide us. We began by exploring the amazing work of the artist Rousseau, who was famous for his 'Jungle Art' between 1890-1910. His work often hid animals like snakes, lions, tigers, leopards, zebras, antelope, birds and monkeys within the undergrowth of the 'jungle'. We decided to meet these animals through the medium of drama and sound. What we created was a sound montage - the peaceful sounds of the rainforest being destroyed by the arrival of a big cat! Can you hear the close-up growls of the tiger during the panic amongst the animals? Enjoy!
What a fabulous assembly! To give us a flavour, let's listen to one of the show's super songs 'Eco-Friendly School'. If you want to hear and see more, why not visit our main website and go to Breaking News or Children-Year Groups-Year 3 to listen to all the songs, and view photographs and video clips!!
